  3. allie Says:

nothing wrong with a little eccentricity

  4. julie Says:

totally agree..better than those business prof’s in suits!

  5. JN Says:

I thought eccentric behavior was generally a form of unconventionality, not necessarily an extreme- such as harboring your excrement. It has nothing to do with money or the lack of. I’m not commenting on the professor, I’m just disagreeing with the lack of respect shown to the word eccentric and the message it conveys. He is an “English” professor after all.

  6. ,JB Says:

    JN,

Chill. He was just kidding. No one wants to read a paragraph that defines eccentric.

  7. lulu Says:

speak for yourself JB. I like to read comments defining eccentric. It’s one of eccentricities ;0)

  8. JD Says:

I had Prof. Williams for a writing class in the spring of 2005. In class he’s as funny, if not funnier, than he is on these clips. Absolutely worth taking. Excellent writing instructor.

  9. Kreszing Says:

Why all of the crazy professors coming from Marymount Manhattan College. Ok… I know they all are creepy looking and a little “eccentric” But it is the BEST FREAKING SCHOOL EVER… MARYMOUNT ROCKS! OH! hold on… it does not… HAHA I HATE MY SCHOOL!

  10. Kristin Says:

Aaw, Prof. Williams, maybe the comment about not expecting you to come to the needy student was not a way to criticize you, but a way to remind students that THEY need to take action to do well. Based on all the love people are showing you here, I wish I went to your school so I could take your class!

  11. Barbarea Says:

Strikes me as one of those people who would rather play hacky-sack in the quad and “befriend” the students than actually teach them. It must be a dream to teach something as touchy-feely as poetry; how could you possibly make any enemies with such drivel? Everyone’s right, everyone’s creative, everyone feels like they’re taking a class from Mr Rogers who keeps telling them how “special” they are, and how much “potential” they have. Barf.

  12. Elizabeth Says:

I’m not in this teachers classesm, his school or even his country but I love him! You should all takeclasses with this wicked awesome seeming guy :P

  13. empathetic Says:

to Barbarea, i don’t get the impression his the lovy-dubby type. I’m not sure what makes you characterize him as such. I completely did not read that at all.
to kristen, though I know what the student meant by “but don’t expect him to come to you”, I think he was reading it grammatically-literally. While I’m not an english/writing expert, I think I usually have a good sense about grammar. The way it was written, it’s grammatically a criticism. I think.

  14. Adam Says:

Seems really funny. I wish I had him.

  15. Pixie Says:

how do i take his class? I mean, i d take eccentric over boring any day! he seems awesome

  16. doob Says:

  17. Rob Says:

    I wish I had a fruit hat…

  18. Johanna Says:

Yeah, thats dumb. Why would someone expect the teacher to come to them when they are having trouble. How are the teachers supposed to know. They arent psychic. By the way he seems like a fun teacher to take.
