guys! it's not that hard… listen to what he says in class and write it down! if you don't understand something, raise your hand in class, go to office hours, ask a classmate, or f***ing Google it! i'm taking him this semester and i'm not aware of anyone who is having trouble because he doesn't baby us and provide powerpoint slides. i'm glad he actually treats us like competant adults.

Penelope: it's not all about the grade you get on the exam. professors who care actually want you to think critically about the material and ask questions in class to really gain a true understanding. anyone can use slides to cram for a final exam, but Elias wants his students to really take some valuable knowledge away from his class.

I wish I were privileged enough to have Michio Kaku as my professor. Even if you are taking his class and think he's cocky, the bottom line is: you are privileged! Stop crying about your professors and start asking them questions, may be it's you?

God… Michio Kaku sh*t talking, without actually taking his class. What has society come to? Gain an opinion through experience rather than intuition, and above all have an open mind. I have read several of his books, and not one of them purported an extreme egotism.

This guy is just an arrogant ass. You speak of yourself too highly, as if you're the best professor out there.

1) The "Late Policy" is ridiculous. The students pay your salary and it's their choice to come late or on time. If they wanna come late, not learn, and fail your exams, then that's their problem. And as for the "distracting" part, in a lecture hall of 240, not many people notice who comes in or not. Every single one of my lectures is that big and unless the person desides to bring a megaphone to announce their arrival, you don't even notice when the hall goes from half full to full. And if you're "making eye contact" as you claim, then you''re definitely not gonna notice someone come in from the side/top/whatever.
Or here's a better idea, if you're already taking meds for your bipolar disorder, might as well take some drugs to improve your attention. Maybe some ADD drugs. What's a few more chemicals floating around in your bloodstream right?

Everything he says makes sense. If you don't know how to read the fucking syllabus, that''s YOUR problem. And yes, in that case that WOULD be a stupid question.
And I'm sure he answers questions outside of class, just maybe not as many. A lot of professors have research grants they have to fulfill. I wanna see YOU get half a million each year and still tend to everyone's needs.
That's what study groups are for. Get off your ass and go make some friends.

U dont keep much of ur education with u after u leave college. after u get a job u can settle 4 ur life is a set routine that has little to do with y u spend 20 years plus in school. Nurses/engineers/scientist etc only keep what they need the other 80% that u paid to learn does to waste.
Some people take studying to the extreme where a A- could lead to suicide. Others just waste money. The best thing is find a balance between work n pleasure, which crazy teachers don't allow even-though they themselves forget things n have to review it b4 teaching.

I am so sick of professors who are concerned with hurting their student's feelings. That kind of mamby-pamby bull**** has no place in a college atmosphere. Professors are supposed to challenge your beliefs and make you think WHY you believe what you believe. Professor Tomasello sounds like he is a fantastic professor and I believe you will be a stronger person by successfully completing one of his classes. If you are looking for someone to stroke your ego or come down to your level, go see a therapist. If you want to learn and become a stronger person, take a class with someone like Prof. Tomasello

I happen to be a 38 yr old student and have learned in life that we can learn from anyone if we only take a moment to shut our own mouths. I think that is advice that you may want to try and Classique Chic you do not seem to be that at all. I strongly recommend that you utilize a dictionary at some point prior to the continued use of your self appointed title.

Stop being so friggin prissy. The students trying to complain are often American. In my country, something like this wouldn't matter at all, specially if the professor is teaching you something.

With many classes on campus that are boring and you learn something by memorizing quickly before an exam, with Kaku you actually learn things by his lectures, you learn because he engages you when he's talking and you're interested in all the stuff he has to say. Yeah, his methodology might be something not everyone approves, but in the end it works: THE STUDENT LEARNS.
